About the Album

This upbeat early album is is full of big band sound and robust and engaging jazz improvisations. Fans will recognise early versions of Just The Way Things Are and Last Night amongst the original tracks, as well as Hawker's unique treatment(s) of Ray Noble's Cherokee. The soulful Stay Away and lilting No Room In Your Life contrast superbly with the more energetic songs. Full, fruity and passionate, this album is an excellent introduction to the glorious range of Hawker's style.
